We have just arrived from the city of Cuzco with very unique pieces that will be auctioned within the next few days.
Each of them has been specially hand picked and carefully chosen. It was a very singular experience to acquire all of these masterpieces, meet the artists and learn the unique stories behind these incredible works.

This incredible Nino Manuelito is a creation of the deceased Emilio Follana, who was awarded the category of Master Peruvian Artisan. We acquired this piece in the Follana workshop, where his sons carry on with the family legacy, and they are recognized as one the best Imagery artists in Cuzco.

The Imagery of Cuzco is by far the most notable activity performed by the Artists in Cuzco. Their work has passed borders. They use wood, maguey, plaster, sticker cloth and techniques past from generations to generations during many centuries. The artists from Cuzco model virgins, saints, Christ, angels, Manuelitos children and Magic Kings to satisfy demands of the devotees from the country and the city as well as national and international visitors.

This statue was created with a wooden maguey frame (sort of a manikin), that was then covered with a special paste, that gives this figure such an exquisite, fine finished surface, very similar to porcelain. He is dressed in blue and wears an alpaca silver crown. A bleeding heart shows on his chest. He has an inscription that reads E. Follana on his back, as shown in the close up picture.

Each figure takes a long time to be finished as everything is completely handmade, not produced in series. Therefore, they are very rare and each one is really special and unique.

Facial features are just breathtaking and the beautiful glass eyes were specially custom-made.
